Born in 1999, Misty the Miniature Horse, was purchased by a woman for future breeding purposes. Two years later, falling upon hard times, she was forced to sell her acreage. Unable to find homes for Misty and her companion, Bronco, she left them behind when she moved. They arrived at the farm at this time.
Bronco was adopted quickly, but Misty had come with a weeping empty eye socket. It was later determined that it must have been a rock kicked up by a lawn mower as that is her only fear. Completely healed and no impairment to Misty, she has fallen from the adoption roster due to her appearance. Sadly, it seems most people use appearance as a criterion for adoption.
Since her arrival, she has become a mother several times and roams a rolling grass pasture every summer with our small herd of 'special' minis.
