Moana is 3/4 Zebu, 1/4 Jersey and was rescued from a private breeder in 2000. Born in 1994, she spent her first 6 years as a breeder, foraging for food on an open range. She came to us badly foundered and starved. (picture to left) She got her name for her constant moaning upon her arrival. Due to her condition, she prolapsed during her last calving which rendered her useless for future breeding.
She resides here on the Farm with the goats; a self-proclaimed nanny to the kids. Although looking well for her 20 years(top photo), Moana moves slow these days, plagued by arthritis and asthma. No worries for her; she spends most of her days basking in the sun with her 'goatie' friends.
